“Anxiety isn’t who you are — it’s your nervous system trying to protect you.”
Anxiety Therapy with Prabha Milstein
Anxiety often feels like living in constant motion while in an endless loop of worry, self-doubt, and“what ifs. Beneath it all, there’s usually something deeper: an old part of you still waiting to feel safe.
I’m Prabha Milstein, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in San Francisco’s Noe Valley. I help people quiet the noise of anxiety by healing its roots, through a compassionate, attachment-based approach grounded in EMDR therapy.
Why I Work with Anxiety
This work is deeply personal to me.
So many of my clients come to me saying, “I can’t stop overthinking,” or “I just want to feel normal again.” But anxiety isn’t a flaw or a failure — it’s a message from the body asking to be understood.
My role is to help you listen to that message with compassion, not judgment. Together, we’ll uncover the experiences – past or present – that keep your system in survival mode, so you can begin to feel calm, confident, and in control again.
How Anxiety Shows Up
Anxiety takes many forms. You might recognize yourself in one or more of these:

I help people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or “on edge” find their way back to calm. Anxiety often has roots in experiences where safety was uncertain, and healing means re-teaching your body what peace feels like.
This work is sacred to me. Watching someone go from panic to presence – from fear to self-trust – is one of the most beautiful transformations I’ve witnessed.
